Marijuana Use Is One Cause To Some Peoples Infertility

Marijuana has been around for a very long time and even though people are aware of its possible side effects, they still continue to partake in it even today. Even if you choose to use this drug in so called "moderation", it can definitely still have some serious side effects, some of which could even harm you. For anyone wanting to get pregnant, if they smoke marijuana they might find that they could potentially suffer from infertility. Both men and women can become infertile due to marijuana use over a period of time. If a woman does become pregnant while smoking marijuana, her chances of having difficulties during her pregnancy and during giving birth increase. The risks of having a premature birth also increase, along with low birth weight in babies.

There are several things that can help in causing infertility, marijuana is one definite cause and some people just choose to take illegal drugs and pretend like they do not think anything like that could happen to them, or some of them just may not really care. The truth is, marijuana can actually cause damage to someone's reproductive system, causing them to possibly struggle with infertility throughout their life. It may not be a permanent damage, so if you are smoking marijuana now and hope to become pregnant down the road, you should try and stop as soon as possible, right now would be good.

Infertility is the cause for many peoples depression, difficulties in marriages or relationships and many other social and emotional problems. If you are using illegal drugs then you are putting yourself in serious risks of becoming infertile, among other problems and if you are a teenager smoking marijuana, it is even worse because now is when your bodies reproductive system is developing very rapidly. If you do not stop then you could be setting yourself up for a big disappointment later on, by becoming infertile. Marijuana use in men can cause a lower sperm count and possibly also causing impotence in some men. Low sperm counts in men are one of the main reasons for not being able to reproduce with your partner or spouse.

Marijuana will remain in your system for up to a month if you smoke it regularly. If something can remain in your system for this length of time then you should know that the effects of this drug could be drastic for some. If you are suffering with infertility then you should talk with your doctor about the different reasons as to why this could be occurring. It is important to be totally honest with him so that he can provide you with the proper treatment necessary in hopes of helping you to be able to conceive once you are prepared. If you are on any illegal drugs such as marijuana and plan on conceiving a child then it is time to put it down and start trying to live a healthier lifestyle, for you and your baby.
