Two Drugs Used In Female Infertility
Treatment
There are so many female infertility treatment options available
today that were not around even a decade or so ago. New drugs have come to be included in the treatment. The
combination of these drugs, hormone therapy, and artificial insemination are making conception much easier for
couples. The drugs are designed to fool the women’s body into producing more eggs. They are typically combined with
two of the most commonly used treatment: Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) and In vitro
fertilization.
Female Infertility Treatment
Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is the process whereby the sperm is
cleansed of the fluid it is contained in. The sperm is then placed in the uterus using a small plastic
catheter. This treatment is usually without pain. When you receive this treatment, you will almost always be on
fertility drugs. These drugs will help your body to produce more eggs that are healthy and strong. This will give
you a better chance of becoming pregnant. The correct timing will need to be watched so that ovulation is occurring
at the time of the IUI procedure. This treatment has a good chance of producing a good result for the infertile
couple.
In Vitro Fertilization makes it easier for the egg and sperm to
meet each other for fertilization. You do not complete the reproductive process from beginning to end with
this treatment. In fact, sex can be bypassed altogether. This female infertility treatment is completed in a jar
and done in a lab. In Vitro treatment entails the removal of mature eggs from the female and the sperm is then
added to them. The fertilized embryo is then placed back into the uterus of the mother. This is a very common
female infertility treatment for women who can not have children.
Doctors Orders
If you choose to try one of the above female infertility
treatments, you will be able to get the best advice from your doctor or gynecologist. He or she can help you to
follow the correct procedures for having the best outcome. Your main goal is to follow the doctor’s orders so that
conception is the end result. Each of the female infertility procedures listed above are common practices today and
may provide the greatest opportunity for couples to conceive.
